Summer Send-Offs, sponsored by New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) and the General Alumni Association (GAA), are informal gatherings for newly enrolled first-year and transfer students and their family members from various regional areas both in-state and out-of-state. These events offer an opportunity for new students and their families to meet current Carolina students, alumni, University representatives and other family members in a casual and relaxed setting.
This year, Summer Send-Offs will take place between Friday, July 21, 2017 and Sunday, August 6, 2017. We depend on volunteers to host these events and we are grateful to the many Carolina family members and alumni who have made this program possible by hosting Summer Send-Offs across the country.
Summer Send-Offs come in many shapes and sizes - examples of past events include a reception at a family home, an outing to a minor league baseball game, an ice cream social or picnic at a local park or an event at a community space. Hosts receive administrative support from our office throughout the planning process and original receipts can be submitted for tax-deductible credit.
