The Carolina Summer Reading Program (CSRP) is your first introduction to the academic climate and community at UNC. Over the summer months prior to your arrival at UNC, all incoming students (first-years and transfer students) will be expected to complete the reading—the same book for all incoming students—which will then be discussed in small group sessions before classes begin. Discussion groups are led by excellent faculty and staff, who may end up being your professors and mentors during your time here!
A selection committee comprised of faculty, staff, and students has selected How Does It Feel To Be A Problem? by Moustafa Bayoumi for the 2017 Carolina Summer Reading Program. The book is available at the Bull’s Head Bookshop in Student Stores for 20% off the list price. Please visit the Carolina Summer Reading Webpage for more details.
This year's discussions will take place on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Please visit the Carolina Summer Reading Webpage for past books and additional resources and information about the program.
