How to Make Your Orientation Reservation

Three Steps to Complete before Starting your New Student & Family Orientation Reservation:

  1. Pay or defer your UNC Enrollment Deposit. For questions on this process, please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 919-966-3621, or unchelp@admissions.unc.edu.
  2. Create your ONYEN by visiting onyen.unc.edu.
  3. Activate your UNC Email address at selfservice.unc.edu.

Once these steps have been completed, you will be able to complete your Orientation Reservation.

Please read the following instructions carefully before proceeding with the Orientation reservation process, as making any changes to your reservation after Thursday, May 18, 2017 will result in a $25.00 change fee.

Instructions for Completing your Orientation Reservation:

Note: It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete your Orientation Reservation. Please note that once you start to complete your reservation, you must complete all information at that time; you may not start the application, save information, and then complete it at a later time. If you close your browser, disconnect your Internet session without completing or without canceling your reservation, or if you leave your browser idle for more than 10 minutes, you will need to log back into the application to start a new reservation.

  1. Please review all payment and refund policies related to New Student Orientation before completing your Orientation Reservation.
  2. Be sure to indicate any specific accessibility services you may need in the appropriate fields such as dietary needs, wheelchair access, or a sign language interpreter.
    • Should you request accessibility services, we encourage you to also follow-up and identify yourself with Accessibility Resources & Service (accessibility.unc.edu).
  3. After you have completed the final page of the reservation form, you will be presented with a page summarizing all of your reservation information. Please be sure to review the summary page. The summary page will also list the total fee due for your New Student Orientation Reservation.
  4. Once you have reviewed the summary page, you will need to select your payment method.
  5. After you complete your payment, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you listed in the reservation form. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24-hours after completing your reservation, please contact us.

Please note that the Orientation Reservation deadline for First-Year New Student Orientation is Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:59 p.m., EST. After the Reservation Deadline, a $50 late fee will be assessed to the Orientation Reservation. First-Year New Student Orientation reservation fees are nonrefundable. All sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis. All sessions start at 9:00 a.m. on Day 1, and end at 4:00 p.m. on Day 2. No exceptions can be made to arrive late or leave early.
