Dear Carolina Families,
Thanks to your loving guidance and wise mentorship over the years, your student is now ready to spread their wings and start the next chapter of their lives. We know that while they are here at Carolina, your Tar Heel will thrive.
As this year’s National Chairs of the Carolina Parents Council, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the UNC-Chapel Hill family and tell you a little about one of the ways you can become involved at Chapel Hill: the Carolina Parent’s Council.
The Carolina Parents Council is a volunteer leadership group, serving as a voice for all Carolina families and an advisory body to New Student & Family Programs, your partner on campus. Membership in the Carolina Parents Council provides participants with a chance to meet with each other and university leaders, twice per year. It also offers the chance to support Orientation, Family Weekend, High Fives for Heels and other advocacy programs. Additionally, membership supports the Carolina Parents Grants Fund which through our Parents Council Awards Program has provided nearly two million dollars ($50,000 annually) to programs that have benefited our undergraduate Tar Heel students.
We hope that you will join us as our newest member of The Carolina Parents Council and look forward to seeing you around campus!
Go Heels!
