RAH, RAH, Car’lina. RAH! RAH! RAH! Each year, families, friends and supporters are invited to campus to experience Carolina football. Family Football Day is a great opportunity to cheer on the Tar Heels, meet other families, and experience a game day with your student.
Join us for the annual Family Football Day, happening Saturday, October 24! Cheer on UNC as they battle Syracuse! You can expect more updates including schedule of events, registration information and more in late July via the UNC Family Experience Portal.
What is Family Football Day?
The Chapel Thrill Game Day
- Chapel Thrill starts three (3) hours before kick-off! Kick-off is announced approximately 10 days prior to game day.
- Located in the Pit and Polk Place in the heart of campus, Chapel Thrill is the ultimate game day experience for all Carolina fans. As part of Family Football Day, it’s open to everyone—whether you have a game ticket or not!
- Kick off the excitement with the iconic Old Well Walk, as players and the marching band make their way to Kenan Stadium. Enjoy vibrant pregame spaces featuring food trucks, drinks, and gathering areas perfect for fans of all ages.
- The energy continues with live concerts, LED screens, inflatable games, golf simulators, face painting, and more, creating a festive atmosphere that brings the Carolina spirit to life all day long.
Attending the Game
Your ticket includes entry to the Carolina Football game in Kenan Stadium. Cheer on our Tar Heels and experience our school spirit and pride firsthand with your student. If you want your student(s) to sit with you, then you must purchase a ticket for them. Alternatively, students can submit an entry for a football ticket in their lottery. Tickets include both lower- and upper-level options. And don’t forget to wear your Carolina Blue!
2026 Ticket Prices & Options
Be sure to sign up for emails in the UNC Family Experience Portal for updates and reminders. Once you purchase tickets, this is also how you will receive event reminders and updates. If you would like your UNC student to sit with you at the game, you will need to purchase a ticket for them.
2026 Gameday Experience Offers:
- Upper-Level Game Ticket | $49-$61 (depending on Zone location) + fees: Includes one (1) upper-level football game ticket.
- Lower-Level Game Ticket and Tailgate | $69 + fees: Includes one (1) lower-level football game ticket.
- ADD-ON OPTION The Kenan Skybox Pass: The Kenan Skybox pass will NOT provide entry into Kenan Stadium and must be accessed from within the stadium. All patrons must also have a valid ticket for the game to enter Kenan Stadium. This is a hospitality add-on only. This add-on allows you to sit at your stadium seats and also visit the Kenan Skybox space throughout the game.
The Kenan Skybox is an add-on for your game day experience. Located on the 5th Floor of the Kenan Football Center, the Skybox is a free-flowing space with a great view of the field. It includes complimentary food and beverage options, including beer, wine and seltzers, as well as access to a full bar where additional beverages can be purchased separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Carolina Family Weekend a separate weekend?
Family Football Day and Carolina Family Weekend are on the same weekend for 2026. We encourage families to also attend Carolina Family Weekend. This is a separate registration process, opening in September.

Are there any refunds?
No. To best prepare for this event we cannot offer refunds. We will follow Carolina Athletics’ Football Ticket policy for events that might impact the game happening. Click HERE to view this information, including rules regarding delays, cancelations, or postponements.
Before purchasing tickets, carefully review the event date as well as your ticket selection(s) at the time of checkout. All ticket sales are final. No exchanges or refunds will be given after ticket(s) have been purchased, including tickets that have been lost, misplaced, stolen, damaged, destroyed, or forgotten.
When & how will I receive my tickets after I purchase them?
Expect your digital tickets sent via email prior to the event date. Tickets are sent to the email you used when purchasing your tickets approximately one week prior to the event.

What if my ticket is located in the visitor’s section?
Don’t worry! The majority of the stadium will be filled with Carolina fans. Even if your tickets are on the visitor’s side of the stadium, expect to be surrounded by fellow UNC fans and other families participating in the Family Football Day.

I need wheelchair-accessible seating. How can I request that?
