In an effort to protect members of the Carolina community and mitigate the potential effects of coronavirus on our campus, the University is immediately implementing new domestic and international travel restrictions.
New Student & Family Programs is excited to announce that Carolina Family Weekend 2020 will take place Friday, September 25 - Sunday, September 27, in conjunction with the Carolina vs. Georgia Tech football game. We recognize that this date is adjacent to Yom Kippur, which begins at sunset on Sunday, September 27. We are working in partnership with North Carolina Hillel to ensure that all families are able to observe locally and/or participate in the weekend and travel home to observe.
Please note, in light of COVID-19 News Student and Family Orientation will be a remote virtual experience, more details will be available within the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times.
UNC Summer Send-Offs, sponsored by New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) and the General Alumni Association (GAA), are informal UNC gatherings that are hosted in various regional areas across the state, the country and abroad, specifically designed for new students and family members to meet other Carolina students, alumni, University representatives, and other family members from their local areas.
More information about hosting and attending UNC Summer Send-Offs in 2020 will be available in Spring 2020.
WOW 2020 will take place from August 14-23, 2020. Tar Heel Beginnings and New Student & Family Programs is currently accepting event proposals from University colleges/schools/departments as well as recognized student organizations to host events and programs during WOW 2020 that welcome new first-year and transfer students to UNC. The deadline to submit event proposals for WOW 2020 is Wednesday, April 15th, at 11:59pm.
