Welcome to the Carolina Family!
The first engagement opportunity for Carolina family members is to attend Family Orientation, which is held concurrently alongside the Student Orientation. During Family Orientation, participants will hear from numerous university administrators, faculty members, and current students about how to partner with the University to support your student’s success and learning. Family Orientation is optional. Families and guests attending Orientation must be registered by their new student.
All Family & Guest Orientation Schedules
We will use web-based digital schedules on site for Orientation sessions, including the Hello Heels app. For a hardcopy of your session’s schedule you should plan to download and print the correct schedule and bring it with you to your session. For student schedules, visit the respective First Year or Transfer student orientation page closer to the summer session dates.
Schedule documents will be posted prior to the sessions beginning in June 2026 – check back closer to the start of our summer sessions.
We welcome and strongly encourage family members and guests to attend Family Orientation and learn about how to get involved at Carolina as a family member.
Attending Family Orientation provides family members the opportunity to…

- meet faculty, administrators, staff, and other Carolina families.
Reservations for Family Orientation should be completed at the same time students complete their New Student Orientation reservation.
