Info to know:

When is my Spring Orientation?

Spring Orientation for all new incoming First-Year and Transfer students will take place Monday, January 5, 2026.

Where is Spring Orientation?

There are several components to our Spring Orientation. Students should complete their Carolina Countdown Pre-Orientation program online prior to attending their Orientation on campus at UNC-Chapel Hill (in person). Check-in will be located at the F.P.G. Student Union, 209 South Road, Chapel Hill, NC. There will also be post-orientation content via an NSFP curated Canvas modules site with helpful modules to remind students about campus supports and resources they will learn of at Orientation.

How do I sign up?

Our online registration site is open and will close Thursday, January 1, 2026 by 11:59pm. If you miss this timeline to register online, you can register onsite on Monday, January 5th at the F.P.G. Student Union, 209 South Road, Chapel Hill, NC

Remember to complete these 3 steps in order to register:

How much does Orientation cost?

Student fee: $120 (includes parking, breakfast, lunch, program publications, online module course creation & staffing, etc.)

Actively participating in New Student Orientation is an important aspect of facilitating your transition to Carolina. All new, first-year students are required to attend New Student Orientation.

Where will I park?

On campus parking for Spring Orientation will be in the Rams Head parking deck. Parking is included in your Orientation reservation, and you’ll receive a QR code and instructions in an email reminder, closer to your orientation date.

IS THERE A FAMILY/GUEST ORIENTATION PROGRAM?

The Spring Family/Guest Orientation program is an online offering of the Carolina Countdown pre-Orientation experience followed by NSFP curated content in our UNC Family Experience Portal. We will also be hosting a live Q&A panel with our student leaders for parents and guests to get all their additional questions answered on the afternoon of Monday, January 5th. Please note that Family/Guest orientation is not required, but an option for families to learn more about campus resources and how to help support their student.
