Arrival Information & Locations
1. Go to Orientation parking at Craige parking deck
- Craige Parking Deck (click for map)
- Craige Parking Deck is located at the corner of Manning Drive and Paul Hardin Drive.
- Use the QR code to enter the Parking Deck. This will be emailed to students from [email protected].
- You will only receive a QR code if you completed the car registration when you completed Orientation registration.
- Signage and staff will guide you to the residence hall for overnight check-in.
- Optional Orientation Shuttles will be running on a loop. Click HERE for more Shuttle information.
2. Check in to overnight student accommodations at Hinton James Residence Hall
- Hinton James Residence Hall (click for map)
- The address is 515 Hinton James Drive, Chapel Hill, NC.
- Staying overnight in the residence hall is required for students.
3. Check in at orientation check-in at frank porter graham (fpg) student union
- Frank Porter Graham Student Union (Carolina Union) (click for map)
- The address is 209 South Rd., Chapel Hill, NC.
- The Orientation check-in desk is on the 2nd Floor, West Lounge Lobby.
For August sessions – if your student has a parking space on or near campus we recommend utilizing the campus shuttles to get to and from that parking to the Orientation program at the Carolina Union. If you and/or your student plan to drive a vehicle to Orientation please utilize the Orientation parking deck information in #1 above.

Designated Orientation Parking is at Craige Parking Deck (click for map) located at the corner of Manning Drive & Paul Hardin Drive.

Orientation Early Arrival
Early Arrival Parking is also located in the Craige Parking Deck located at the corner of Manning Drive & Paul Hardin Drive. Use the QR code included in your session preparation emails to access the deck.
- Carolina Housing would have had to approve you for an early arrival process. If you made early arrival arrangements with their office and were approved you should follow any/all instructions they provided you for the early arrival process.
The morning of your Orientation session start, you will proceed directly to Orientation Check-In located in the Carolina Union (FPG Student Union).
