Arrival Information & Locations
1. Go to Orientation parking at Craige parking deck
- Craige Parking Deck (click for map)
- Craige Parking Deck is located at the corner of Manning Drive and Paul Hardin Drive.
- Use the QR code to enter the Parking Deck. This will be emailed to students from [email protected].
- You will only receive a QR code if you completed the car registration when you completed Orientation registration.
- Signage and staff will guide you to the Frank Porter Graham (FPG) Student Union for check-on or, if needed, an Orientation Shuttle.
- Optional Orientation Shuttles will be running on a loop. Click HERE for more Shuttle information (link forthcoming).
2. Check in at orientation check-in at frank porter graham (fpg) student union
- Frank Porter Graham Student Union (Carolina Union) (click for map)
- The address is 209 South Rd., Chapel Hill, NC.
- The Orientation check-in desk is on the 2nd Floor, West Lounge Lobby.
For August session – if your student has a parking space on or near campus we recommend utilizing the campus shuttles to get to and from that parking to the Orientation program at the Carolina Union. If you and/or your student plan to drive a vehicle to Orientation please utilize the Orientation parking deck information in #1 above.
Access and Register Your Car at Craige Parking Deck
Designated Orientation Parking is at Craige Parking Deck (click for map) located at the corner of Manning Drive & Paul Hardin Drive.
Step 1: Find Craige Parking Deck using this map
- Address: 555 Paul Hardin Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514
Step 2: Use the QR Code sent you via email from [email protected]
- The QR code must be used to enter and exit the deck each time, to avoid charges.
Step 3: Enter your Session Parking Pass Code
- Visit unc.pmreserve.com/
- Enter Your Session Code (copy your session code below)
- Session 5, Friday, June 20 – NSFOsession5
- Session13, Friday, July 11 – NSFOsession13
- Session 23, Thursday, August 14 – NSFOsession23

Orientation Early Arrival
Early Arrival Parking is also located in the Craige Parking Deck. Use the same instructions as detailed above.
- If you are using early arrival sudent accommodations, check in at Hinton James Residence Hall between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Hinton James Residence Hall is located at 515 Hinton James Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
- If you arrive after 8:00 p.m., you may need to call the on-call phone number posted at Hinton James Residence Hall to check-in
The next morning, you will proceed directly to Orientation Check-In located in the Carolina Union (FPG Student Union).
